TERRORISM IN INDIA

A terrorist is a person who creates fear panic among the organization to which he belongs. Terrorism usually is of two kinds. There is political terrorism which seeks to achieve its political end by creating fear and panic on a large scale. There is also criminal terrorism which indulges in kidnappings in order to extort huge amounts by way of ransom.
Political terrorism is much more dangerous and its consequences can be disastrous. Political terrorists are well organized and well-trained and it often becomes difficult for the law enforcing agencies to arrest them in time. They indulge in senseless violence on a large scale in order to intimidate the people and the government. Hijacking of aero planes, arson, robberies, murder of eminent personalities, shooting down of innocent people indiscriminately, use of transistor bombs and other explosives, spreading of rumors’ etc. are the various devices used by terrorist organizations in order to achieve their political ends. Terrorists constantly change their hide-outs and their tactics in order to escape arrest and punishment. When arrested, they try to commit suicide or are killed by their own close associates. They may think that they are patriots, but in reality they are antisocial or criminal elements who are exploited by clever politicians to achieve their own ends.
Terrorists are usually young, while the brains behind them are old, seasoned politicians who co-ordinate and guide their activities. They are fanatics and extremists who act with great fervor and zeal, but studies reveal that if apprehended alive, a terrorist loses his fervor as quickly as he had acquired it. When he has time to think, he feels he has been stupid or that he was misled. We have to disabuse our minds that terrorists who belong to the political class are patriots. All international studies consign them to the category of murderers, rapists or highway robbers. Terrorism has no place in a democracy which is based on the belief that all problems can be solved through negotiations. Government can also be changed through the ballot box.
Terrorism is a world-wide problem. It is there in the middle-east and in most countries of Europe. Very often it is seen that terrorist groups receive money, weapons, training and guidance, from other countries and this enables them to attain a high level of performance. In the case of the Punjab terrorists, there were no doubt they were receiving training, weapons, sanctuary and other forms of material assistance from Pakistan. It was not an easy job to seal the long border completely and prevent flow of arms to the terrorists, but through strong and determined steps, thus terrorists are completely flushed out and peace is restored in Punjab.
For dealing with these terrorists, the government had to arm itself with greater powers. The anti-terrorist act passed by the parliament provides for deterrent punishment for terrorist acts. The act also provides punishment for "disruptive activities" which have been defined as any action taken to disrupt the sovereignty or the territorial integrity of the nation. Earlier, the parliament had passed laws amending the arms act to curb unauthorized access to arms and ammunition. The act lies down that possession of unlicensed or unauthorized arms in disturbed areas will entail a minimum punishment of imprisonment for a period of three years. The minimum punishment earlier provided in the act was merely six months. The national police commission, in its report, had rightly advocated the enactment of a new arms act to provide for stricter conditions for the issue of licenses and enhanced responsibilities on the part of the licenses for security and accountability of ammunition. Laws have also been enacted to prohibit the use of religious places for political purposes or for hiding and sheltering anti-social elements. Stringent punishment is to be meted out in case of misuse of a religious place.
The series of bomb blasts in Delhi and neighboring states and spate of murders of eminent personalities show how difficult it is to curb terrorist activities. The Punjab terrorists were an organized group working to achieve 'Khalistan' or a separate Sikh state under the guidance and inspiration of late Sant Bhinderawale and others like him. After "operation blue star” it was hoped that the extremist activities in Punjab would be successfully encountered, as it was through that without a protected sanctuary it would become difficult for the extremists to carry on their acts of sabotage and violence. However the assassination of late Mrs. Indira Gandhi was the direct consequence of "operation blue star". After the "operation blue star" the terrorists again re-grouped and entrenched themselves in the golden temple. However "the operation black thunder" was a complete success and terrorists and anti-social elements were flushed out. The sanctity of the golden temple was restored again.
Terrorism could not, and it cannot, be curbed by the law enforcing agencies alone. It was the tact, prudence and sagacity of the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and Sant Longowal which, after protracted negotiations, resulted in the historic Punjab accord which not only gave a knockout blow to terrorism but also saved the nation from disintegration. No doubt, the Sant paid for it with his life, but it ushered in an era of cooperation instead of confrontation in Punjab and Kashmir. However, elections have been held successfully in the state, and a popularly elected chief minister is now at the helm of affair. The terrorists have lost the sympathy and co-operation of the people and they stand isolated. Let us hope that the country would be entirely free from this menace very soon.

Home Work Should Be Abolished

Children are the gift of God. They want to play and enjoy their childhood. But now a days children have not time to play and enjoy. Because they have to complete a lot of homework. This make a burden on the student. Children should know about his moral values but this doesn’t mean that everyday they should do a lot of homework. Tution/Coaching which is almost taken by every children/student. Give them double burden for homework. According to the research of NASA this is proved that every children has extra ordinary skills but improvement is needed. But due to a lot of work they can’t improve their extra ordinary skills. They can’t  make their mind creative.  They can’t revise their study. Now a days many case of depression and suciced of student are coming in front due the pressure of  schools and homework. They can't socialize them to the society that make a problem in their future like lack of confidence The corporal punishment is also a major problem in a small life of childhood. So according to me corporal punishment should be abolished and homework should be given less priority. So that a chlidren can satnd forward for his revivals.

The Dowry

Since the civilisation takes place, it is been always a tendency of human to acquire more and more in his life. Due to this tendency, he changes marriage (a pure custom) into a curse for bride. In  past the help which was given to bridegroom to make their new life better. Now it became Dowry and a complusion on the family of bride. As per the Newton's 3 law of motion  "Every action has a equal and opposite reaction". As like this where we have developed so much but dowry is also an evil  side of our society. In the dowry family  of bride have to fulfill the requirement  of the family of bridegroom. If the requirement of bridegroom were not fullfiled then the bride has to face the result. Which is mainly not so good. Mainly the result came in three ways. First, their relationship broke before wedding. Second, they devorced after sometime  of their marriage. Third and the worst one is sometime bride illogate with other boy, bridegroom started teasing and torchering the bride, sometime bride committed sucide and sometime bride was killed.

Now, what do you think? Are we living in a good society and feeling secure. I think the answer is almost no.
And we also can't say that the name of dowry is only use by illiterate people. The most recent incident of dowry is in our India's capital Delhi done by a well educated family. Our government enforced many laws to abolish dowry and to save bride. Sometime these laws helps us so much while sometime these laws are misused by women herself to con some big personalities.

So at last according to me, we shouldn't tried to abolish dowry. But we have to this greed of humen should be routed out  from our society.

CORRUPTION

Corruption is today a world-wide phenomenon. In our own country some people in high positions lave been charged for it.
A corrupt person is termed immoral, dishonest and unscrupulous in his dealings. His disregard for honesty, righteousness and truth results in his alienation from society. He is treated with contempt. But as erosion of values leads to decadence, remedies for the social malaise remain elusive, and so no amount of contempt can eradicate corruption which is a symptom of decadence.
Corruption is the most virulent when crises everywhere threaten the very existence of the society and the faith in life is shaken. It has always been there like tie leech, but when the system grows weaker and the boat flounders, it gets bolder and drains its victims of the last drops of their blood.
The older the system the weaker it grows and fails to solve the riddles of life that grows more complex every day. So men lose faith in it and let it drift down. At this point corruption takes over and plunges the entire society. After Second World War the old system with all its values was left in a shambles. The crippling effects of the war, the recession and depression, and uncertainties in a faithless world of maimed and moribund encouraged cynicism in a section of the population.
This section included the government officials dealing in essential commodities. They found the post-war conditions ideal for fishing in troubled waters and jetting richer. They formed a sort of vicious circle in which moral values and honest intentions no longer held valid. The flourishing black market in essential commodities, adulteration of even baby- food, bribery, fraud and economic, political and administrative manipulations with an eye on earning profits has brought untold misery to the people.
One would say the corruption in India has an ancient lineage; it is sanctified by tradition. The author of the Arthasastra made some remarks on government officials of his time which are relevant even today: "Just as it is impossible not to taste the honey or the poison that finds itself at the tip of the tongue, so it is impossible for a government servant not to eat up at least a bit of the king's revenue. These in the postwar world became only bolder while eating up government money and accepting bribes.
Today, when India is free, these officials representing all government departments are very close to the most corrupt businessmen who are too unscrupulous to let any opportunity of amassing profits slip. This collusion broadens the base of the vicious circle and corruption spreads 'like wild fire to engulf the entire society. The political and social guardians depend only too much on the richer communities and they look indulgently on while these communities hold the entire society and the government to ransom.
Corruption starts at the top and percolates down to the whole society. Such corruption cannot be confined to the towns alone. It is as widespread in the villages where the dishonest officials and the traders carry the germs of the disease. The tyranny of confusion and price rules the land and the people are helpless victims of corruption everywhere.
